Brief facts

Geoffrey Leo Ogwok was charged with three counts which include false accounting, embezzlement and abuse of office contrary to Sections 22, 11 and 19 of the Anti-Corruption Act 2009.

Judgement

He was convicted on all three counts.

With regard to the offence of False Accountability, he was sentenced to one year imprisonment, for the offence of Embezzlement five years imprisonment and for the offence of Abuse of Office three years imprisonment. The sentences are to run concurrently.

His Worship Nabende Moses also ordered the convict to refund UGX 6,000,000 which he had embezzled and never to occupy any public office for a period of ten (10) years.
