John Byaruhanga, a Senior Environment Officer, Rukiga was charged with Causing Financial Loss of UGX 2,250,000 and seven counts of Forgery. On 27th February 2024 through plea bargain, Mr. Byaruhanga refunded the UGX 2,250,000 to the IG Asset Recovery Account and he was convicted on charges of Forgery and sentenced to a fine of UGX 800,000 on each count of Forgery. The charge of Causing Financial Loss in Count I was withdrawn on 28th March 2024.
