Deputy IGG Calls On Nile Basin Secretariat To Join Anti-Corruption Efforts

The Deputy Inspector General of Government, Dr. Patricia Achan Okiria, has urged the Nile Basin Initiative Secretariat to actively engage in the fight against corruption. Speaking at a one-day workshop held on 4^th September 2025 at the Secretariat’s headquarters in Entebbe, Dr. Okiria emphasized that winning the war against corruption requires collective effort.

The workshop aimed to raise awareness on corruption and fraud-related issues while equipping participants with practical knowledge on preventing and reporting corrupt practices.

The Secretariat leadership commended the Inspectorate for its efforts in eliminating corruption in Uganda and pledged their support to advance the country’s anti-corruption agenda.
