372 Mps Declare Assets Online

Appeared in The New Vision on 29 Mar 2017

The Inspectorate of Government (IG) has revealed that 372 of the over 400 Members of Parliament have declared their assets online ahead of the Friday March 31 deadline.

Annet Twine, the Director of Leadership Code in the IGG’s office, told New Vision yesterday that they sent invites of online declaration to over 400 MPs and 129 are yet to declare.

The preliminary status of the online declaration of assets further indicates that over 7,608 of 16,792 public servants have declared their wealth and Twine is optimistic the number will increase before the deadline.

Twine added that online declaration by public servants will reduce government expenditure on the exercise, where sh200m required annually to compile data in hard copies will be saved.
