50 Posts Vacant As IGG Cancels Interviews

Appeared in The Daily Monitor on 04 May 2016

More than 50 positions in Iganga district local government have remained vacant for nearly a year.

This follows the cancellation by the Inspector General of Government (IGG) of the outcome of interviews that had been conducted by the district service commission last year.

The unfilled job posts include 30 teaching positions, 15 parish chiefs and five health workers. Interviews had been conducted between March and April last year, but the Deputy IGG, Ms Mariam Wangadya, directed the chief administrative officer, Joseph Maira Mukasa, to halt the appointment of the successful candidates pending the outcome of investigations by her office.
