Deputy IGG Blasts Civil Servants Over Poor Service

Appeared in The New Vision on 14 Mar 2016

The Deputy Inspector General of Government, George Bamugemereire, has lashed out at civil servants for failure to implement Government programmes.

He singled out the technical and supervisory officers for not doing their jobs, which has led to poor service delivery in different sectors worldwide.

Bamugemereire cited chief engineers who are supposed to supervise road construction according to the specifications agreed upon by the Government, but are not playing their role.

He made the remarks during the opening of leadership and management training for the Inspectorate of Government officers at Civil Service College, Uganda in Jinja recently.

Bamugemereire said the training comes after the IGG identified gaps in non-delivery of services in Government institutions.
