The Inspector General of Government (IGG) has cleared Jinja district council to sell its land to Bank of Uganda to raise money to build a district headquarters at Kagoma.
The sale was last October blocked by a district councillor who doubted that the administration had gone through the public procurement and disposal of assets process.
However, in a 200-page dossier, the IGG on February 10 cleared the district and District Chairman Fredrick Ngobi Gume said they would now ask the Central bank to continue with the purchase process, paving the way for construction.
