IGG Orders Dismissal Of Lab Technician

Appeared in The New Vision on 28 May 2015

The Inspector General of Government (IGG) has ordered the dismissal of a laboratory technician in Namutumba district for using a forged academic transcript to get the job.

In a letter addressed to the Namutumba chief administrative officer, the Deputy IGG, Ms. Mariam Wangadya, noted that Tom Ochan lacks the requisite qualifications to hold the position.

Her letter explained that Ochan applied for the job and attached a transcript for a diploma in medical laboratory technology claiming to have obtained it from the Medical Laboratory Training School in Jinja between 2010 and 2011.

However, Wangadya said when an inquiry was made at the school it was found that Ochan studied there for a certificate in Medical Laboratory Techniques from 2007 to 2009.
