Despite having a population of over 40,000 students, Kyambogo University operates without full professors, an investigation by the Inspector General of Government (IGG) has revealed.
In a report released yesterday, IGG Justice Irene Mulyagonja said at the time of investigation the university had only a handful of associate professors, including visiting ones. The investigations were carried out in the financial year 2013/14.
According to the report, by May 2015, out of the 348 positions that were filled, there were only 15 associate professors, including four visiting ones from Korea.
The report was handed to the Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga, who expressed shock and called for immediate action.
