IGG Wants Two Policemen Dismissed Over Forgery

Mr Raphael Bakku has written to the Inspector General of Police Maj. Gen. Kale Kayihura, saying the two policemen were irregularly recruited into the Force.

The IGG says Mr William Okello, an assistant inspector of police and Mr Jamil Semakula, a police constable of the Local Administration Police in Kiboga, used forged appointment letters to obtain jobs in the force following the centralisation of local administration police under the Ministry of Internal Affairs in 2006.

The accused officials reportedly denied any wrongdoing when interrogated by IGG's investigators. Police Spokesperson Judith Nabakooba said she would crosscheck and find out the cause of the anomaly.
