The Anti-Corruption Court has dismissed charges of illicit enrichment of assets worth sh3.9b against Geoffrey Kazinda, the former principal accountant in the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM).
The Inspectorate of Government (IG) had brought the charges against Kazinda, saying his properties worth sh3.187b and four cars estimated at sh769m were not commensurate with his income as a civil servant.
Yesterday, the Anti-Corruption Court Chief Magistrate, Agnes Alum, ruled that charges were โvague and generalโ and subsequently dismissed them.
After court, Daisy Acio, a state attorney from the IG, said the Inspectorate would reinstate the charges and file them in court as soon as possible.
