Former principal accountant in the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) Geoffrey Kazinda, who is accused of illicit enrichment, has asked the Principal Judge to assign another judge to try him.

Kazinda argues that he will not get justice if he is tried by Justice Margaret Tibulya over illicit enrichment. Kazinda is alleged to have illicitly amassed wealth estimated at sh4.6b.

Tibulya said she will make a ruling regarding Kazinda’s application on September 5.

The Director of Legal Affairs in the Inspectorate of Government (IG), Sarah Birungi, did not respond to Kazinda’s application.
