A Kyambogo University lecturer has requested the Inspector General of Government (IGG), Justice Irene Mulyagonja, to halt the alleged irregular recruitment of teaching assistants in the tertiary institution.
In his letter dated February 23, James Baryamureba, a Kyambogo don, expressed concern over the ongoing recruitment of teaching assistants, accusing the University of ignoring the set procedures for staffing.
Baryamureba accuses the Kyambogo University director of human resources, Geoffrey Tumwesigye, of evading various laws when he authored an internal memo dated February 17 to all the 40 heads of department, โrequesting them to discriminately select former students of Kyambogo University for recruitment of teaching assistants without competition or advertisement.โ
