The Anti-Corruption Court Chief Magistrate, Sarah Langa Siu, has jailed Lyantonde Grade Two magistrate, Stephen Kakaire, for three years for soliciting and receiving a sh1m bribe.

Kakaire got the bribe from George Taremwa to delay his arrest warrant.

After giving him the cash on November 17, 2011, Taremwa moved out and phoned the IG’s investigating officer who stormed Kakaire’s office and arrested him.

Taremwa was by then facing charges of obtaining sh600,000 credit by false pretence from Prossy Nakawesi, which he failed to pay.
