The new born Soroti University may not see the light of day! This follows reports that the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Sports has unearthed grave irregularities that cannot allow it to operate efficiently.

Consequently, President Yoweri Museveni has ordered the Inspector General of Government (IGG) to investigate the Minister for Education, Maj (Rtd) Jessica Alupo Epel over these irregularities.

In a letter dated April 18, 2016, President Museveni through his principal private secretary, Elizabeth Natukunda, noted that his officer has “received complaints about harassment, conflict of interest and elements of sectarianism in the composition of the ministerial appointees as members of the Soroti University Council.”
