The Inspectorate of Government (IG) has directed the Local Government ministry to send a former acting chief administrative officer (CAO) of Yumbe district to the Public Service Commission for disciplinary action over his alleged abuse of office and embezzlement.

According to the IG report seen by Daily Monitor, Moses Kisembo Bahemuka, while working as the acting CAO of Yumbe, on August 6, 2014 allegedly embezzled sh3m.

The funds in question were given to Mr Kisembo, now Deputy Nakasongola district CAO, for fictitious office imprest.

“He admitted that he did not carry out office activities following his subsequent arrest by the IG on other cases. That he was willing to refund the money,” a letter from the IG, which is addressed to the Local Government ministry’s Permanent Secretary, reads in part.
