An accounts assistant at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole, has been jailed and ordered to refund sh105m, which she stole.

The Anti-Corruption Court, presided over by Justice Lawrence Gidudu, upheld Jocelyn Asiimwe’s two-year jail term, on top of refunding the sh105m. The money was meant for management of the stadium.

Prosecution led by senior state attorney Rogers Kinobe from the Inspectorate of Government (IG), said in 2010, the NRM held a national conference at Namboole and sh150m was paid to Asiimwe in cash.

She was supposed to bank the money but she only accounted for sh46m and failed to account for sh105m.
