Over 23 employees of Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) have petitioned the Inspector General of Government (IGG) to halt the ongoing restructuring over abuse and favoritism.
In their petition dated December 28, 2015 filed through their lawyer Isaac Kimaze Ssemakadde, the employees want the IGG to specifically probe their board chairman for presiding over a flawed restructuring process where people with Masters degrees were sacked and their jobs given to people with Bachelorโs degrees among other irregularities.
The staff also wants their Director Human Resource, Harriet Omoding, to be specifically probed for wanton sacking of staff without giving them warning letters as per Public Service Standing Orders, favoring workers who pay allegiance to her by rewarding them with big positions even when they donโt have the requisite qualifications.
