A mother of scandals is rocking the country’s aviation industry, Business Link can reveal.

A combination of aviation and URA sources last night revealed to us that the scandal involves a flamboyant Uganda minister (names withheld) who has been protecting a Kenyan based airline company, Fly-SAX, which is faulted for evading tax and airport charges.

“The minister has been covering up for the company’s excesses as they evaded the taxes and thereby depriving this nation of revenue,” sources said, adding that the minister in question is a bulky man who hails from western Uganda.

Sources said the minister is being investigated by the Inspectorate of Government for aiding the defaults of Fly-SAX thus causing financial loss to Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
