Officers from the Inspectorate of Government, Hoima Regional Office have arrested a state prosecutor in Masindi, Silas Okello for allegedly soliciting bribes.

Information from sources indicates that Okello was arrested on Friday Morning at around 10:00am from Kijura, a suburb of Masindi town as he received a bribe of sh80,000 from David Openjitho, a resident of Kirasa cell in Masindi town.

When our reporter contacted Openjitho from whom Okello was soliciting the bribe, he said that the victim was receiving money from him for the third time.

Munira Ali, the IG’s spokesperson confirmed Okello’s arrest, saying he would soon be transferred to Kampala to answer charges of soliciting bribes.
